 It’s one of the best investments you can make for your ability to experience life the way you want to.

Quality movement is essential for all aspects of health and interconnects with most other aspects of good function. 

You may have reached a midlife point where you are noticing changes such as  aches and stiffness, weight gain, dysfunctional pelvic floor, fatigue – whatever age, you can make a huge difference, but midlife is the best time to invest in yourself to age well. 

Increasing your mobility and muscle function will go a long way in preventing many common problems. Where people go wrong, is starting an exercise regime that isn’t right for them or sustainable. I have a large selection of small equipment and various fascia balls to let you explore what works for you.

You don’t actually have to do a lot of exercise to stay well – certainly good news for some! Just the right type of movement-training for you, with an understanding of what it’s doing for you.  Movement ‘snacks’ can be weaved into your day. 

Jumping into a running club, or hitting the treadmill is not ideal when lots of prolonged cardio may not be the right approach for you – especially if you are a menopausal midlife woman.  Maybe a gym environment is not for you, and want to learn how to use small equipment in your home. 

We can look at overall lifestyle shits including food choices, gut health, improving sleep and bringing nature and creativity into your life. 

Strong Foundation

We can explore movement that is specific to you and the results you want. We’ll build a strong foundation through Pilates, myofascial release, muscle balance and varied movement taken from a range of methods. Short burst exercise techniques of higher intensity have become popular and for good reason, but it’s wise to address posture and muscular imbalances first. 

Maintain Muscle

We know stimulating and maintaining muscle has many benefits including aiding metabolism and protecting joints. But there has been something else at play regarding the influence of muscle and it lies within the mitochondria.

These little powerhouses in the muscle cells were discussed in the Human Longevity Project and are a major player in overall health and ageing well.

Lifestyle

What experience has given me, is an understanding that it is the framework of your everyday life that supports wellness, rather than an hour here and there slotted into an unsupportive modern day system. Focussing in on what you can change and adjust for the long-term is what we can look at together.

There are a number of studies that move away from the noise and fads of the fitness industry and highlight what actually works and what is needed.

Our time together can include  cooking quality meals from scratch looking at good foods for midlife.

Nature is part of what we are, so I can assist you in starting small raised bed in the garden to grow a few greens or herbs, rekindling your relationship with food and nature.
